
Donating blood with Community Blood Bank is a safe and simple process.
Usually the registration table will be located within the building of the organization hosting the blood drive. You will be asked to confirm your name, address and birth date. Please bring an I.D. with you. You will be asked to read some information about your donation process.
Interview and Mini-Physical
Our donor services staff will guide you through a mini-physical consisting of checking your pulse, blood pressure, temperature and iron levels. You will be ask questions regarding risk behaviors, travel, medications, medical conditions and other information required by the FDA.
Your Whole Blood Donation
Your donation of blood will be equivalent to about one pint or 495 ml. The actual donation will take about 7-10 minutes. You may feel a small pinch upon the needle insertion, this slight discomfort will dimension quickly.
Refreshments and Relaxation
At the completion of your donation, you can enjoy refreshments to help replenish your fluids (juice, pop, water and cookies). After you are done with refreshments you are free to resume your normal activities for the day.
