Sioux Falls Donor's Lifelong Commitment Helps Infants
Sioux Falls, SD- Whether you are a first
time or a life-long multi-gallon blood donor you impact and save lives from the
first time you donate. Dennis Geraets has been committed to giving the gift of
life by donating blood every
opportunity he gets. “It is important to me to
help save patients’ lives within our community,” states Dennis. “I know I am
helping someone that is in need of blood and I want to do this for them.” In
fact, Dennis is a special type of blood donor that allows his blood to be given
to infants. He is one of the few donors that are quint blood donors.
Dennis says, “I want to do something for someone everyday for free.” He remembers his first donation was along side of his Dad. Dennis goes on to say, “It was important to my father to donate blood and it has become important to me.” Dennis has donated 66 units of blood which converts to over 8 gallons and up to 198 lives saved.
