Sioux Falls, SD – Community Blood Bank, KRRO Radio and Marlin’s Family Restaurant (I-29 & Tea Exit) are teaming up together to host a life saving blood drive on Friday, May 22 from 6:30am to 11:00am. KRRO Radio will be live at this special blood drive. Marlin’s will provide everyone that signs up to donate blood with a coupon for a free breakfast or a 12 pack of pop. All who donate can register for a chance to win a KRRO Concert Package that includes tickets to 3 huge shows.
“Holiday weekends are difficult times for the blood supply,” states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “People donating blood at community blood drives like this one, just before a major holiday, impact the blood supply in a very special way by helping keep the blood supply at adequate levels so we can respond to emergencies.”
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form), 110 pounds or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an ID with you. It is recommended that you eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. Community Blood Bank is the sole supplier of blood to Sanford Medical Center, Avera McKennan Hospital, Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota, and V.A. Medical Center.
