9th Annual "No Worries" Community Blood Drive Scheduled

Sioux Falls, SD-The 9th annual “No Worries” community blood drive is scheduled for Saturday, July 25th from 7am to 4pm at Lewis on 41st & Minnesota Ave.

“Our hope is to collect 200 units of blood in one day, which will save up to 600 lives within our community. Last year we collected a record setting 266 units. This blood drive is a fun, easy, convenient way to make a difference in the summer blood supply”, states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “The hospitals rely on this blood drive to ensure blood is available for patients through the end of July. Donors have an opportunity to save cancer, trauma, and surgery patients with just a single donation.”

Area residents are invited to join Outback Steakhouse, KELO AM, Lewis Drug, and Keller Rental to donate blood on Community Blood Bank’s bloodmobile. The Outback Steakhouse will be there handing out special Outback Steakhouse gift certificates to all who donate. There will be special treats compliments of the Cookie Cutter throughout the blood drive. The first 200 that sign up will get free event t-shirts. All who sign-in to donate can register for a chance to win great prizes.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parent consent form), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an I.D. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating blood. Mark your calendar for this life saving event.
